The Laconia Police Department will be conducting a full-scale active shooter training exercise in conjunction with NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management on Saturday, April 15, 2023. The training exercise will be located at the Pleasant Street Elementary School located at 350 Pleasant Street and will run from 7:00 am through 2:00 pm.
Multiple law enforcement partners will be participating as well as members of the Laconia Fire Department and EMS. Residents and visitors may see a significant increase in police presence during this time.
Northbound traffic on Pleasant Street will be detoured at the intersection of Oak Street. Southbound traffic on Pleasant Street will be re-routed at the intersection of Audrey Lane. Folsom Street will be closed at the intersection with Pleasant Street. Tremont Street will be closed at the intersection of North Main Street. Dartmouth Street will be closed at Tremont Street.
Electronic sign boards and traffic barricades will be used to clearly define this temporary traffic pattern.
