[ARCHIVED] Timberman Triathlon Needs Volunteers!

Timberman Triathlon Traffic Impact Information

Dear Residents,

The IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman Team would like to thank you in advance for your hospitality during the 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman. On Sunday, September 18, triathletes will visit Laconia to test their physical and mental limits. Over the course of the day, they will race throughout the community as they complete a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run in succession. We ask for your continued cooperation and understanding on race day as you travel around the community. As always, we appreciate your support and ask that you proceed with caution, utilize detour routes if able, and  allow for additional travel time to your destination. Participants count on you for motivation on race day, so bring your friends and cheer them on, or even volunteer! We look forward to another great event and hope to see you out there!

NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACTS: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2022

It is important to note, that there aren’t any closed roads for the bike or run routes, although several intersections will be managed by law enforcement to keep everyone safe and maintain traffic movement as much as possible. Expect delays and please be patient as officials do their best to manage traffic. The finish line area in downtown Laconia will be closed beginning Saturday, September 17 and will remain closed until the evening of Sunday, September 18.

The bike route will head north on Route 106 from Laconia towards Meredith and remain in the shoulder where available. Athletes will enter the roundabout in Meredith before heading South on 106 back through Laconia towards Belmont and Loudon. Heading through Loudon, athletes will turn around and head north on 106 back to Laconia. Northbound and southbound traffic on Route 106 near Meredith, Laconia, Belmont and Loudon may experience delays, and alternate routes should be considered.

Route 106 north of Laconia in Meredith has very narrow shoulders and motorists should use extreme caution or plan for alternate routes. The approximate times of disruption are from 9 am to 1 pm.
